How to get copies of birth or marriage or death certificate?
- Making payment of Rs. 100/= if you know the number and date of the birth or marriage or death certificate
- If you do not know the number and date of the birth or marriage or death certificate, you can obtain the certificate by paying Rs. 200 to the Divisional Secretariat.
- Relevant certificates can be obtained from the Colombo Divisional Secretariat only in case of birth, marriage or death that took place in Colombo District.
How to register the births ?
- In order to register a normal birth, should meet the Registrar of Births of the relevant division within three months of period after the birth occurred.
- For register the births after three months please contact the Additional District Registrar and obtain relevant information.

- In first obtain the death certificate of the pensioner and terminate the pension.

- Later inform the relevant person to bring the following documents.
- Original copy of certificate of death of the pensioner
- Original birth certificate of the widow
- Original certificate of marriage
- A photocopy of the widow's bank pass book
- A photocopy of identity card of the widow
- A photocopy of pension card or pension number
- A passport sized color photograph certified by the Grama Niladhari
- Photocopies of all the above documents should be certified by the Grama Niladhari
- After giving the relevant information, take the file and make necessary actions to prepare the Widows 'and Orphans' Pension..
